Where to Find Silver Strike Slot Games in Vegas (2 Casinos)

Key Points:

  • Silver Strike slot games dispense collectible tokens, called strikes, when certain game conditions are met.
  • The game is currently available only at 4 Queens and at Plaza in downtown Las Vegas.

Silver Strike slot machines, which have attracted a cult following, are becoming harder and harder to find in Las Vegas.

Silver Strike slots have become popular due to the collectible tokens that are dispensed when players line up the “Silver Strike” symbol on the 3rd line of the machine.

Strikes dispensed are minted with imagery specific to the casino in which they are won, and are often rare, or limited in nature.

Players rarely cash Silver Strike tokens in, and there is a vibrant second-hand market on Ebay, and similar websites.

Vegas Casinos With Silver Strike Machines

Note that the positioning of Silver Strike games within the casino can, and will change somewhat frequently. Things may have shuffled around since the last time I stopped in.

Plaza

Currently, Plaza offers players 2 Silver Strike machines. Both are located directly in front of the casino cashier cage.

4 Queens

Offering players the most extensive selection of Silver Strike slot machines in Las Vegas, 4 Queens seemingly has them sprinkled across the gaming floor.

While 9 out of their 10 machines only disburse $10 Silver Strike Tokens, the machine closest to the entrance (on the Golden Nugget side of the property) also dispenses $40 face value strikes with a yellow cap.

Other Items of Note

Sadly, El Cortez permanently removed their last Silver Strike machine. I asked a couple of slot attendants and they both seemed to think it was gone forever.

Although they once were, Silver Strikes are no longer offered at any Strip casinos that I’m aware of.

How Often are Silver Strike Tokens Dispensed

It’s a difficult question as there is no firm answer. I can only work off of my own limited experience. On my recent visit, I ran $20 through a Silver Strike machine at each of the casinos listed above.

I was awarded 2 Silver Strikes at Plaza, 2 Silver Strikes at 4 Queens (including a yellow cap $40 strike), and 1 at El Cortez. I assume that I ran hot and that the rate I won isn’t indicative of future results. Let us know in the comments what you win!

As a differentiated slot experience, I wholeheartedly encourage you to check out Silver Strike next time you are in Vegas! Who knows, you may end up with a valuable souvenir.

I was in Las Vegas a couple days ago, Went to 4 Queens and Plaza. (3/5-3/8/2024)

At 4 Queens I won a coin within a few minutes, at Plaza I won 3 coins (a little upset since all 3 were the same ones and the cashier would not exchange them).

I had a great time getting silver coins again, has been a long time.

At Four Queens this past week, put $10 in a Silver Strike by the Fremont St exit and won a gold token on my first spin. A man offered me $30 within a minute of winning it. Thankfully my husband said no, and pocketed it. Now I am looking up the history of the coins and thinking it may be something I can do as a hobby. So interesting and cool!

2/16/23 staying at Four Queens, got the players card with 5 dollar free play, seen the Silver Strikes slots machine, by the doors coming into the casino, loaded card, hit max bet, last time hit $10 coin, loaded 20 more bucks and played that and hit a $40 piece, nice score

Went looking for these machines after seeing this site, and had a ton of fun playing them! Payout was great on the $10 coins, and then just trade the duplicates in at the cashier for more money to keep trying! The $40 coins are much tougher to get. I'm sure I paid $100 to get one....but the quest is fun! There were two at the Plaza, sort of in the middle of the casino near the back. They were near a main aisle and they had 3 $10 types of tokens, but no colored caps. The 4 Queens had 12 machines, with 2 that gave out $40 gold caps. There are three at the entry (one is a $40 machine) on the Golden Nugget side, there is a single $10 unit as you walk toward the cashier in the aisle opposite the tables, a little farther down is a bank of 6 $10 machines, one larger display $10 machine by the cashier, and the other $40 machine is in the section of old reel slots. All of the $10 dollar machines also give out red and blue caps. Redrocks does have two $10 machines on the back wall opposite the entry. They currently have 5 types of $10 coins, with one being a limited edition Vegas Golden Knights team coin. It comes in blue or clear caps.

Also of note, the 4 Queens coins with the $40 gold OR $10 red caps are .999 fine silver.

Went to Plaza on December 25th, 2022. It appears as though they’ve gotten rid of their silver strike machines. Looked around a bit, couldn’t find them. They definitely weren’t where they used to be. ☹️

@Carolyn, they are still there. I saw them but did not play.
