Vegas Restaurants That Charge Junk Fees (CNF Fees, etc.)

Key Points:

  • Nearly 20 Strip restaurants are charging a fee, listed in the menu’s fine print, that ranges from 3% to 5%.

  • These fees are known by different names, including CNF fees, supplementary fees, employment surcharges, and more.

  • Most visitors pay them without realizing they’re there, but you can ask to have them removed.

Fees in Las Vegas get a lot of buzz on social media, and honestly, most of the fees people complain about, like resort fees, for instance, are fine.

You may not like paying (I get it), but there’s nothing “scammy” about them. They’re clearly declared up front when booking, and it’s clear to anyone booking a room that they’ll be on the hook for them.

They’re far from hidden.

That said, fees at a handful of restaurants feel “slimier”, hiding in the fine print at the bottom of the menu with the allergen warnings, often going unnoticed.

I’ve combed damn near every menu on the Strip to identify who’s charging CNF fees, franchise fees, entertainment fees, concession fees, supplementary fees, employment surcharges, etc., to help folks make a more informed decision.

I learned that there are many fun, creative ways to say “Revenue that goes straight to the bottom line.”

Always check your itemized receipt, as your server will typically remove the fee from the bill if asked.

I’ll be maintaining this rundown of restaurants on the Strip that charge an extra fee. Let me know if I missed any in the comments!
