Grand Lux Cafe Has a Breakfast Buffet?! - $31.50 Well Spent
Key Points:
- The Grand Lux Express Buffet costs $31.50 and is available daily from 6 - 11am.
- I found it uncrowded, high-quality, and a decent value (as drinks are included).
- Grand Lux also offers happy hour Monday-Friday from 4 - 6:30pm in the bar.
The all-you-can-eat scene in Vegas has been dying a slow, agonizing death, prompted by the Covid-19 pandemic.
While damn near every Strip resort had a buffet pre-2020, only 6 options remain today.
Traditional buffets may be fading to black, but a handful of restaurants are filling the void with AYCE breakfast and brunch offerings.
One of those offerings is at the popular Grand Lux Cafe, which has restaurants in both The Venetian & neighboring Palazzo.

I had no idea this existed, but several folks on Facebook let me know it's existed for years.
...And I thought I knew everything there was to know about Vegas. Guess not.
While not a secret offering, I've never seen it promoted, and the Grand Lux Express Breakfast option is just one unremarkable entry on a 16-page menu.

The Cheesecake Factory owns and operates Grand Lux Cafe, which, if you're familiar with it, explains the long AF menu.

Grand Lux Cafe Breakfast Buffet Review
The breakfast buffet costs $31.50 and includes coffee and/or juice.
For comparison, most breakfast entrees run around $20. Coffee costs an additional $6.50, and fresh-squeezed juice costs $9.50, so the express buffet is roughly the same price as a standard breakfast plus coffee or juice.
The Express Breakfast is marketed on the menu as a good option for folks in a hurry, as you can eat instantly and get on with your day.

The menu includes scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage (chicken & pork), cereal, oatmeal, mini waffles, hash browns, yogurt, fresh fruit, and a few impressive pastry trays.

Oatmeal is weird, and I won't be convinced otherwise.

My favorite part of the buffet was the omelet and scrambled egg station, where you could choose your own veggies/meat.

I went with green peppers, tomatoes, ham, and cheese (which is folded inside), and it was great.

There will be some who scoff at paying $30+ for an offering they claim is similar to a "hotel continental breakfast", but I thought this was great.
It was fast, coffee & juice were included, I could eat a variety of items instead of 1 entree, and everything was high quality.
I knocked back bacon, sausage, that fat omelet, mini waffles, hash browns, and more pastries than I'm proud to admit.
Not one item looked or tasted "cheap", and I perceived it all to be fresh out of the kitchen.
Service was fast enough that I downed 6 cups of coffee. Which was needed. Because I had too many beers the previous night. Morale was low coming in, but much improved on the way out.
Whether you're a big eater, in a rush, or just want variety, Grand Lux Cafe's breakfast buffet is solid.
I enjoyed it.
Grand Lux's Happy Hour
Don't sleep on the happy hour at Grand Lux Cafe, either, which is offered Monday - Friday from 4-6pm in the bar, and includes:
- $9.50 well drinks
- $9.95 "selected" cocktails
- $9.95 wine by the glass
- $7 draft beer
$10.95 bites, including chicken tenders, a happy hour burger, Asian nachos, a quesadilla, and these fantastic buffalo chicken rolls.

It's not the "best" or cheapest happy hour on the Strip, but it's a decent option in a resort not known for being cheap.
