Cheap Places to Eat on Fremont Street – (Under $15)

Things in Vegas are more expensive today than a decade ago (I know, you’re shocked), but there are still plenty of cheap restaurants downtown, and on The Strip, for that matter.

Considering I’ve eaten at nearly all these spots, I figured it’d be helpful to recap cheap dining options resort by resort, along with pics of the meals I’ve enjoyed. There’s a LOT.

I’ll link out to each menu so that you can easily compare options.

Cheap Eats at Plaza

Pop Up Pizza: Ranked by this blog as one of the best pizza by the slice spots in all of Vegas, Pop up Pizza offers numerous inexpensive items that range from a basic slice to more exotic, high-quality options.

May I suggest their “Mike’s Hot Pepperoni”? So flavorful, and for just $7/slice!

A square slice of pizza on a checkered piece of paper topped with pepperoni and jalapenos.

Fresh Mexican Grill: The cheapest item on the menu is the $3.75 Street Tacos, but Fresh Mexican Grill also offers a “Choose your plate” option with 2 tacos, bowls, a burrito, or a quesadilla for just over $10.

I’ve eaten a lot of tacos downtown, but these were EASILY my favorite. Get the extra hot salsa!

Fast Food Chain Options: Plaza also has a Subway for those looking for a quick, cheap bite.

Pinkbox Doughnuts: A recent addition, Pinkbox is located near Plaza’s entrance and is jam-packed with inexpensive (and unique) pastry options.

I recently stopped in – Take a look inside Plaza’s Pinkbox Doughnuts!

Cheap Eats at Binion’s

Binion’s Deli: For lunch and dinner, Binion’s Deli serves a basic “Famous Burger” for $13.99 and a handful of other entrees for around (many just over) $15.

Binion’s Famous Burger has jumped in price recently, but it was great.

Binion’s Cafe: Most items at Binion’s Cafe have crept up over $15 at this point, but they also serve Binion’s Famous Burger for $14.99 in addition to a Classic BLT, Gourmet Grilled Cheese, and even a Cowboy Philly for under $15 (provided you’re a loyalty member).

Benny’s Smokin’ BBQ & Brews: Several menu items qualify as cheap eats, including the BBQ Brisket and 1/2 Chicken, priced at around $15 or less. Meals include baked beans, corn on the cob, coleslaw, and jalapeño cheese cornbread.

Note that the best prices at Benny’s Smokin’ BBQ are for loyalty club members only. Pricing for non-members is $2 more.

My brother and I recently shared this $22.99 full rack of baby back ribs & sides, and thought it was great.

Cheap Eats at Golden Nugget

Chick-fil-A: The popular chicken chain has a location at Golden Nugget, but it‘s closed on Sundays. Most sandwich options at Chick Fil A cost around $5 and meals can be had for under $10.

Claim Jumper: Cheap eats at CJ are limited to the breakfast menu at this point, where you can get a stack of 4 pancakes for $14.99 or cinnamon roll French toast for $15.99, which I ordered and enjoyed recently.

Triangles of french toast laid like fallen dominos across a white plate, topped with powdered sugar.

The Grille: Only a few menu items land under $15 at The Grille, including a GN hot dog, chicken caesar wrap, and loaded nachos, although most other items aren’t too much more expensive.

Sick of hot dogs, I ordered their loaded nachos, which were $15 exactly and were topped with nacho cheese, pico, guac, refried beans, and sour cream. Kind of “cheap tasting” but a lot of food for the money.

The Grille also serves a sub-$15 breakfast sandwich.

Starbucks: A self-explanatory option, the national coffee chain serves inexpensive pastries and breakfast sandwiches.

Cheap Eats at The D

American Coney Island: With cheap items like a $5.05 Coney Island Hot Dog, $5.75 Chili Cheese Fries, and a $9.50 Gyro Sandwich, Coney Island has what it takes to satisfy your post-drinking hunger inexpensively.

American Coney Island is also one of the few restaurants in downtown Las Vegas open 24 hours.

Trust me, nothing hits the spot after a long night in Vegas.

Cheap Eats at Fremont

Fremont Food Hall: A fast-casual food hall in Fremont’s former buffet space, tenants include Huey Magoo’s (chicken), Fremont Pizza Company, Tomo Noodles (Asian), and Steak ‘n Shake.

A couple of “Deal Highlights” in Fremont’s Food Hall include a $9.99 slice + drink deal at Fremont Pizza Company and a $5.99 Single Steakburger Combo at Steak n Shake that comes with a burger, fries, and a small drink.

Lanai Express: Offering cuisine on demand from a variety of cultural influences, Lanai Express has something for everyone. From hot dogs and Chinese food to oxtail soup, Lanai has it, and most items cost less than $15.

Here’s the $13.99 2-Item Chinese Combo I recently ordered. A lot of weight for the price!

Of note, they sell a $3.99 Shrimp Cocktail and

Cheap Eats at 4 Queens

Magnolia’s Veranda: A staple destination of mine downtown, Magnolia’s at 4 Queens offers a handful of breakfast items under $15, including French toast, pancakes, and biscuits & gravy.

Notably, Magnolia’s is among the few restaurants on Fremont Street offering all-day breakfast.

While much of their lunch & dinner menu hovers just above the $15 mark, only their Classic BLT and the Queen’s Burger land below it.

My Queens Burger was GREAT!

Chicago Brewing: Sub-$15 meal options at Chicago Brewing Company are limited to a chicago Dog and a Brew Burger.

The dog surprised me to the upside. Great little meal.

Wana Taco: A quick-serve taco stand, Wana Taco wasn’t my favorite taco joint on the rundown, but I thought this was a good value at $12.99.

Cheap Eats at California

Aloha Specialties: Catering to California’s Hawaiian clientele, Aloha Specialties offers a handful of breakfast items for under $15, although other meals are now landing between $15-$20 for most items.

Market Street Cafe: While the Cal Cheeseburger is the only item that lands at $15 on the nose, the rest of the menu is also pretty affordable.

Cheap Eats at El Cortez

Hot Noods: A new restaurant added as part of El Cortez’s casino expansion project, Hot Noods offers one item: a beef bowl served with beef, dashi, pickled red ginger, yellow & green onions, and rice.

It’s one of the more flavorful things I’ve consumed. Recommended.

Siegel’s 1941: If you’re looking for a cheap breakfast downtown, look no further than Siegel’s which is one of the few restaurants downtown that offers breakfast all day at a price point of $10-$20.

A $19.95 prime rib deal is also offered at Siegel’s around the clock.

Hot Dog Cart: El Cortez also wheeled a cart into their expanded casino that sells $4 dogs, $5 brats, $8 chili dogs, and more.

Cheap Eats at Downtown Grand

Pizza Rock: Rated by us as the best slice of pizza in Vegas, slices at Pizza Rock are both substantial in size, and low in price. A deadly combination. Below, is a picture of my most recent slice, which cost $7.75 and was massive.

Dog & a Beer Deal: In an effort to attract customers, Downtown Grand is offering a hot dog and a can of PBR for just $3 – A tough deal to beat!

They’ve also been rotating in a slightly more expensive brat & a beer deal.

Hot & Juicy Crawfish: A number of baskets land in the $15 range give or take a few bucks. Inexpensive options include a chicken wing basket, hot & tender basket, catfish basket, shrimp basket, and more.

I avoided this spot for too long and recently ordered a fried shrimp and Cajun fry basket and thoroughly enjoyed it. The shrimp were meaty, had some kick (you choose your spice level), and the fries were great.

Cheap Eats at Main Street Station

Triple 7 Brewery: Offering a double whammy of cheap food and drinks, Triple 7 has been a personal go-to of mine for some time.

On the food front, Triple 7’s typical meal falls into the $15 range and includes a selection of burgers, sandwiches, prime rib, pizza, and poke.

A selection of craft beers brewed on-site are also offered for $6 (16 oz.) or $7.50 (23 oz.).

Garden Court Buffet: As the only buffet open in downtown Las Vegas, Garden Court at Main Street Station could be a great option for those looking to gorge themselves. The buffet is currently open for brunch daily and dinner on select days.

Other Cheap Places to Eat on Fremont Street

Neonopolis: The base level of Neonopolis is home to a series of restaurants that include Fat Tuesday, Doner Kabab Express, and Fat Sal’s, among others.

It’s in there, right behind Fat Tuesday.

My favorite item in there is the Gyro from Doner Kebab, which has been a late-night go-to of mine for years. A lot of calories for the money.

Dirt Dog: Also found in Neonopolis, Dirt Dog offers an impressive selection of specialty hot dogs piled high with toppings. Options include a “Dirty Chili Dog”, “DUI Dog”, Flamethrower Dog”, and more.

Most of them can be had for around $10 or less.

My $11.75 chili dog from Dirt Dog (there are cheaper options) is best described as a “flavor explosion”. It was hearty and not nearly the mess I thought it’d be.

White Castle: You know it, and you either love it or hate it. Just know that it’s a an option.

Denny’s: Serving an assortment of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options, Denny’s in Neonopolis is a good choice for those looking for cheap eats on Fremont Street.

With numerous options priced at $15 or less, Denny ranks among the more reliably cheap sit-down restaurants on Fremont Street.

Le Thai: Located near El Cortez, Le Thai serves up a wide variety of noodles, fried rice dishes, curries, soups, and more for around $15.

In addition to the standard menu, Le Thai offers a $13.50 lunch special Monday – Friday from 11 am – 3 pm that includes a non-alcoholic drink.

Finally, I tried it and ordered the Ga Pow, a stir-fry. The customer chooses the spice level, and it was my favorite food item on this entire rundown. Unreal flavor, filling, and great service.

Taco Truck: There’s a street taco truck on Fremont East, right across the street from Neonopolis that serves $3.95 tacos and a handful of other items that cost $15 or less.

I snagged a couple of chicken tacos recently, which you top yourself from a refrigerated condiment stand. I enjoyed them, although eating at their standing tables in the summer heat was pretty brutal.

Evel Pie: Slinging some of the best pizza in Las Vegas, guests can order by the slice for as little as $6.25, though my slice of Sweet Heat was $7 and so, so good.

According to me, and I know about this kind of stuff, Evel’s Pizza is tied for the title of best in Vegas alongside Pizza Rock.

Notably, they were advertising an $8 cheese slice and a beer deal when I last visited.
